When words fall short, music speaks. I'm honored to have provided music for many families during these meaningful moments, and I consider it among the most meaningful work I do.

Spanish guitar—with its warmth, depth, and emotional resonance—has a unique ability to honor a life well-lived while bringing comfort to those gathered in remembrance.

Why Live Music for a Memorial?

Live music transforms a memorial service from a gathering into a meaningful experience. The gentle sounds of acoustic guitar create a contemplative atmosphere that allows guests to reflect, remember, and find solace together. Unlike recorded music, live performance responds to the emotional energy of the room—softer during quiet moments, lifting gently when spirits need raising.

What to Expect

  • Arrival & Setup: I arrive early and set up quietly and discreetly, ensuring everything is ready before guests arrive
  • Pre-Service Music: Gentle background music as guests gather, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere
  • During the Service: Music that complements readings, slideshows, or moments of reflection
  • Reception: Continued soft music during the reception, allowing conversation while maintaining a peaceful ambiance
  • Volume Sensitivity: I'm hyper-aware that conversation and connection are the priority. I play at a volume that supports conversation without ever overpowering it

Musical Selections

I work with families to select music that feels right for their loved one. Options include:

  • Classical Spanish guitar (peaceful, elegant)
  • Soft flamenco (warm, soulful)
  • Requested songs arranged for guitar
  • Hymns or spiritual music if desired
  • Custom requests to honor the deceased's musical tastes

Popular selections: "Recuerdos de la Alhambra," "Hallelujah," "Ave Maria," "What a Wonderful World," and any special song that held meaning for your loved one.

Religious & Non-Religious Services: I'm comfortable with both. Whether you want traditional hymns, secular music, or a thoughtful blend, I work with you to create the right tone.

What Families Have Said

"His music was very beautiful and brought comfort to our family and friends and lifted our spirits during our time of need. He was very professional and provided a contract and communicated quickly. The process was smooth and seamless."
— Amanda S.
"Daniel and Gabriel were amazing and part of the life celebration of my late husband. They played some amazing music and were extremely amicable and professional."
— Rennu D.
"We hired Daniel and his troupe of flamenco dancers to perform at a Celebration of Life. We as a family were a bit unsure of the appropriateness of having flamenco dancing at a memorial event, but knew this was something the decedent would have wanted. We expressed these concerns to Daniel before the event, and he worked with us to be sure the performance struck the right tone. It was all handled beautifully... In the end, the performance seemed entirely appropriate for a somber occasion."
— Jeremiah H.
"We hired Daniel to perform at a celebration of life event. He skillfully captured the essence of the occasion and created a comforting and uplifting atmosphere."
